Oral French method for adults, learn by speaking from minute one. Most methods teach you about French. Mine teaches you to speak it. That nuance changes everything. From your first lesson, you build 20+ sentences yourself, without opening a single notebook.
50 minutes, three phases, one goal: get you speaking. No rigid lesson plan. No administrative objectives to tick. Just natural, cumulative progression that turns each lesson into a small victory.
1
We pick up where we left off.
What you learned last time is consolidated before moving forward. No "do you remember last week?". You live the material again, orally, by speaking.
2
I ask. You build the answer.
I introduce a new element: a verb, a turn of phrase, an invisible rule. And without realizing, you use it. You don't memorize: you produce.
3
You leave with what you just created.
A Notion recap, an audio kit with my voice, and above all the tangible satisfaction of having moved forward. No homework. Your brain works on its own between lessons.
What it is and what it isn't
Exactly what you'll find here.
I prefer being clear from the start. If any of these "no's" is a dealbreaker for you, my method isn't the right one.
✅
Your mouth is my only tool
Everything goes through speaking. Like when you were a child. Like when it actually works.
❌
Zero pen. Zero notebook. Zero spelling.
No dictation, no written exercises. You speak first, you write later if you want.
✅
Architecture, not pile-up
Each element builds on the last. Nothing left to chance. Grammar settles naturally into your sentences.
✅
My voice in your ears between lessons
After every class, I send you a Notion recap and recordings of my voice to review pronunciation at your pace.
✅
You see, you say, you remember
I use a real-time shared whiteboard so you can see key words without breaking the conversation flow.
❌
No forced memorization
We don't recite vocabulary lists. We understand the logic. We use it. It sticks.
✅
I explain in your language when needed
I speak fluent English and Spanish. I can anchor an explanation in what you already know if necessary.
❌
Your evening stays yours
No homework. Your free time is yours. Everything happens during the lesson.

FAQ
Common questions about the method.
Of course I do. But I don't serve it on a silver platter with rules to memorize. It's everywhere in what you say. I make you produce it before naming it most of the time. And when I think it's better to state a rule clearly first, I do that too. The method adapts to you, not the other way around.
I send you a complete Notion recap: what we studied, key structures, and an audio kit with my recorded voice to work on pronunciation at your own pace.
Yes, absolutely. The progression is designed to start from zero and adapt to all levels up to advanced. From your very first lesson, even starting from zero, you'll build 20+ sentences yourself.
From your first lesson, you leave with structures you can use immediately. Significant progress is generally visible after 5 to 10 lessons. Regular students go from "I understand but I don't speak" to "I speak without thinking" in 3 to 4 months.
Lessons happen on Zoom or Google Meet. All you need is a computer and internet connection. I also use a real-time shared whiteboard.
No. No homework, no required prep. Everything happens during the lesson. Your free time is yours.
You can sense the method on paper.
But nothing replaces trying it. One first lesson. 50 minutes. No pressure. You'll see what it's like, speaking French from the first minute, without notebooks, homework, or grades.
Everything you need to know about the speak-first French method
What is the speak-first method?
The speak-first (or oral-first) method prioritizes spoken expression over writing from the first lesson. Unlike traditional methods starting with grammar rules and written exercises, it proposes active immersion: the student speaks, builds sentences, makes mistakes, corrects, and develops natural fluency. Inspired by how we learn our mother tongue, through listening and practice, without textbooks.
Why learn French without rigid grammar drills?
Grammar is still present, but anchored in real speech rather than abstract rules. This avoids the classic problem of students who "know the rule" but can't speak. By producing structures before naming them, you build lasting linguistic reflexes. The rules come second, once your brain has already internalized the logic.
Does the oral method work for all levels?
Yes, it adapts to absolute beginners and advanced learners alike. For beginners, we start with very simple sentences that the student builds themselves from lesson one. For intermediate and advanced, we work on fluency, precise pronunciation, cultural nuance, specialized vocabulary. The advantage of oral work is that it automatically adjusts to the person in front of you.
How long to speak French fluently?
With regular private lessons (1-2 per week) and active oral practice, a motivated adult can reach conversational fluency (B1-B2) in 6 to 12 months. The most dramatic progress often happens between lessons 10 and 30. For advanced (C1-C2), count on average 18 to 24 months of regular practice, ideally with cultural immersion (films, music, travel).
